When it comes to the best tennis coaches, Toni Nadal is the first name in everyone’s mind. Toni coached his nephew Rafa to one of the greatest careers in tennis history. The two had a long partnership since Rafa’s childhood. Nadal started his pro tennis career in 2001 and was under tutelage on his uncle till 2017. They won a total of 17 Grand Slam together.

 Rafa was also able to reach world number 1, perform those heroics on the clay, and be counted among the legends of the game under Toni’s guidance. This made Toni as one of the most successful and best tennis coaches on the tour.   The senior Nadal stopped coaching his nephew since 2017 primarily due to age. He now heads the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy in Mallorca Spain.

Marian Vajda 

Vajda was a professional player of the 1980s and 90s from the Czech Republic. He however made a real name for himself by coaching Novak Djokovic to become one of the greats of the game. The Vajda-Djokovic partnership started in 2006. They have been a highly successful duo. Vajda has been instrumental in correcting the missing links of Djokovic’s game. He is also regarded as one of the best tennis coaches in terms of understanding the player’s psyche. 

Djokovic has won 17 slams so far under Vajda’s guidance. He has also been world number 1 for 282 weeks and won 5 Nitto ATP year finale titles. The two broke their partnership briefly in 2017 after Novak started being coached by Andre Agassi. However the Serb soon recalled Vajda back. The Slovak was responsible for ending Novak’s downhill in 2017 and 2018 to get his player back to the winning ways. Vajda has thus been one of the best tennis coaches in recent times.

The Frenchman has been coaching Serena Williams since 2012. Mouratoglou has been one of the best tennis coaches with Serena winning 10 Grand Slam titles under his guidance. They have also succeeded in winning 3 WTA year-end finals and an Olympics Gold medal in singles together. Serena has also achieved the great honor of becoming the oldest female world number 1 and the oldest female Grand Slam champion under Mouratoglou. 

Patrick also runs a highly successful Moratoglou Tennis Academy in France. Many young players like Grigor Dimitrov, Stefanos Tsitsipas train there. The Frenchman is regarded among the most sought after and best tennis coaches in the present era. He now aims to motivate Serena to improve Margaret Court’s Grand Slam record.
